This TechTip is part of our series familiarizing researchers with wireless electrophysiology technology.
Whether you are dealing with a complex piece of equipment, your kids' new toy, or the latest smartphone, setting up new equipment can often seem difficult and time-consuming. Neuralynx breaks that cycle with our data acquisition systems. In this TechTip, we will go over the simple setup of the best wireless system available, FreeLynx.
After selecting your input configuration, Neuralynx assembles and tests your new system in-house. When the FreeLynx and associated components arrive at your lab, setup is straightforward and can be completed in minutes.
The following diagram shows the basic steps for setting up the FreeLynx system.
The computer and router are pre-configured at Neuralynx.
After connecting Cheetah Computer (running Domain Time II) to the Wifi Router via the provided Power over Ethernet (PoE) Injector, power on the FreeLynx with battery installed and launch Cheetah. Select the default Cheetah.cfg configuration file. Cheetah will automatically sync with Freelynx and be ready to record in under 30 seconds. That’s it!
