Neuralynx recommends you keep your PC up to date with Windows security updates that are regularly released. In addition to these security updates, Windows also provides feature updates and additional system updates. Often, these updates can cause issues during your recording session by taxing network resources and worst case, restarting the PC without your knowledge.
To reduce the chance of a system reboot, we recommend you Pause updates during your recording sessions and Manually update Windows between subjects/patients. In addition to this, disconnecting from the internet can also help reduce background network activity.
To Update Windows, select Start , and then go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update . From there, Windows will automatically check for the most recent updates. If not, select the Check for updates button.
To Pause Windows updates, select Start , and then go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update . From there, you can select the Pause updates for 7 days, or select the Advanced options button. The advanced options menu has a drop down to pause updates for up to 35 days.
