When installing Cheetah on a new PC, you will need to obtain a new license file. Prior to this, please review the system requirements based on your acquisition system as well as the When should I upgrade Cheetah FAQ. If upgrading to a new version of Windows on the same PC, please see the following article.
If you still have your old PC, your license file (NlxLicense.lic) is located in the C:\ProgramData\Neuralynx folder. You will need to send this to Neuralynx to properly transfer the license to the new PC. If you do not have your existing license file, you can also send us a CheetahLogFile.txt from a previous recording session.
Next, follow the steps below:
- Click on the Windows Start menu and then search for or type "Run", select this and a window will open. In this window type "cmd" and press enter:
From the Command Prompt (black) screen, type
ipconfig/all > hostit.txt Press Enter
notepad hostit.txt Press Enter
A notepad document will then open. Save this document and email it, along with the original license file or log file to support@neuralynx.com. Neuralynx will then provide a new valid license file for Cheetah.
Be sure to follow the Network Configuration setup prior to running Cheetah.
If you have any questions, please contact support at support@neuralynx.com.
